MV Athena

Fully stabilized, air-conditioned and rebuilt in 1994 at a cost of $150 million, with further refurbishment in 2004, the MV Athena fully deserves its status as a premium ocean cruising vessel. At just over 16,000 tonnes, this excellent vessel is large enough to feature all the modern amenities you would expect from a luxury cruise liner, yet small enough to ensure an intimate, friendly atmosphere on board - essential ingredients for any Travelscope Cruise.

There is never a dull moment on board this modern vessel with a choice of excellent leisure facilities including a swimming pool, fitness centre, cinema, casino, card lounge, library, shopping boutique and a selection of bars. A traditional walk-round promenade deck is ideal for taking in the natural splendour that surrounds you - or for topping up the tan when the sun is shining. Dinner is served in two sittings in the impressive Olissipo restaurant, after which you can enjoy a live performance in the show lounge or dance in the nightclub.

All of the Athena's 278 passenger cabins have full private facilities with bath and overhead shower, air-conditioning, TV with movie channel, fridge, hairdryer and safe. A number of suites are also available, complete with spacious living room, jacuzzi bath, DVD player and minibar.
