The highlight of the holiday will be New Year’s Eve, which is definitely something to experience in Amsterdam. Dam Square is set up with beer tents and live shows ready for the street parties, alternatively retire to one of the cafés or bars and soak up the atmosphere as the clock approaches midnight. As the clock strikes twelve the city erupts with light and sound as spectacular firework displays are started and excited New Year wishes are exchanged.
